The MATES conference aims at the promotion of and the cross-fertilization between theory and application of intelligent agents and multiagent systems. It provides an interdisciplinary forum for researchers and members of business and industry to present and discuss latest advances in agent-based computing with prototyped or fielded systems in various application domains. MATES 2016 will offer a competitive set of special topical sessions, invited keynotes by distinguished experts, and issues a Best Paper Award. The proceedings are published by Springer in its Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) series. The conference series  is ERA/CORE ranked B.

Topics of Interest

MATES 2016 covers all areas of intelligent agents and multiagent system technologies. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Multiagent platforms and tools
  • Agent-oriented software engineering, model-driven design of  multiagent systems
  • Agent communication languages
  • Autonomous robots and robot teams
  • Advanced theories of collaboration: Modelling and formationof agent teams, groups, coalitions, and organizations
  • Human-agent teamwork (Humans, software agents, robots, animals, animoids)
  • Multiagent systems: Conventions, norms, institutions, trust and reputation
  • Adaptive agents and multiagent learning
  • Agent-based planning and scheduling
  • Agent-based information retrieval
  • Agent-based distributed data mining
  • Agent-based service discovery, composition, negotiation
  • Agent-based simulation of complex systems and applications
  • Embodied conversational actors and believable agents, and user modelling
  • Recommender agents
  • Agents for the semantic Web
  • Agents for the social Web
  • Agents for the Internet of Services
  • Agents for the Internet of Things, pervasive computing
  • Agents for cloud computing
  • Mobile agents
  • Standards fo agents and multiagent systems
  • Prototyped or fielded agent-based applications in various domains (e.g. e-business, e-health, e-government, automotive, smart city, smart grids, renewable energy).

In 2016, the MATES conference is co-located with the 39th German AI Conference (KI 2016) and the 46th Annual Symposium of the German Computer Science Association GI (INFORMATIK 2016).
