The 2nd UN Virtual Worlds Day is a global gathering that brings together leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to explore the transformative potential of AI-powered virtual worlds in addressing global challenges and advancing the delivery of the Pact for the Future and the Global Digital Compact. Co-organized by ITU, ITCILO, FAO, UNECA, UNECE, UNECLAC, UNESCWA, UNFCCC, UN Guatemala, UNICC, UNICEF, UNRISD, UN Tourism, UNU, World Bank and WIPO, this event serves as a platform to advance discussions on how AI and virtual technologies can drive sustainable development, foster inclusivity, and shape the future of digital public infrastructure. Taking place on 11-12 June 2025 in Turin, Italy, the event will feature high-level dialogues, interactive showcases, and UN-led project presentations that explore the role of AI-powered virtual worlds in shaping the future of cities and governments, transforming industries, and strengthening governance frameworks. Sessions will highlight how AI-powered virtual worlds can contribute to bridging the digital divide, ensuring human rights in digital spaces, and advancing resilient and inclusive economies and communities. Participation is free of charge and open to all. Join us to shape an inclusive, sustainable, and people-centred digital future.
